Our monthly mission for November is collecting items for men and women veterans through the America Legion. The following are items that are needed:
Gift cards- McDonalds etc.
Socks – Men & women
Men’s gloves – Large or X-large
Women’s Gloves – Medium or Large
Lotions – Men’s & women’s
Toothpaste
Shaving cream
Deodorant
Fuzzy Slipper Socks – Men’s & women’s
Chapstick
Slipper socks
Puzzle books
The items will be packaged in boxes by the American Legion and are given out at Christmas.
All donated items need to be delivered to the church by November 30th so they can be delivered to the local American Legion.
Join us for a Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday, November 26th at 7 p.m. We are forming a “Community Choir” for this service. Rehearsal will be at 5:30 p.m. Pastor Melinda will provide a light supper.
My Brother's Keeper is in need of items: Long sleeve men’s sweaters, sweatshirts, flannel shirts and tshirts shirts in sizes M, L, X-lg; men’s hankies or bandanas. We always need batting (like old mattress pads, comforters, blankets, flannel sheets...etc). These items do not need to be new, just clean. We also need hotel/travel size shampoo, lotion, and razors. Items can be dropped off at Athens United Methodist church, 118 S. Main St. Athens, around back, in the ramp door, Mon-Fri. 9a.m-1 p.m.
